SHIVANTHI SRI RANJAN

Shivanthi began yoga classes at Still Lake Yoga Center in 2002 hoping to get some relief for stiff joints caused by rheumatoid arthritis. Not only did she accomplish that, but after many years of dedicated study she became a certified yoga teacher in 2013. She has been teaching at the center ever since.

She follows the Sivananda tradition and believes that a yoga program should encompass the whole yogic philosophy and include pranayama (special breathing exercises), asanas (postures), relaxation, meditation, inner focus and mindfulness. She endeavors to make her yoga classes accessible to people with varying abilities and believes that consistent practice of all aspects of yoga brings tremendous benefits physically, mentally & spiritually.

She teaches Gentle Yoga and Yoga for All.

KATHY PERES

Kathy began attending yoga classes in 2008 in order to deal with chronic back pain. She has been a student at Still Lake Yoga since 2012 and a certified yoga teacher since 2014. All of her yoga teacher training was taken to deepen her own yoga practice, a combination of asana and Meditation in Motion practice and daily seated meditation.

Kathy is a Yoga Alliance RYT 500. She is a certified teacher of the Integrated Amrit Method of Yoga (I AM Yoga) as taught by Yogi Amrit Desai. She has received teacher training in Yoga levels I and II (Posture of Consciousness and Meditation in Motion), Yoga Nidra and Advanced Yoga Nidra, as well as therapeutic yoga, all within the I AM Method.

Kathy teaches Gentle Yoga online through Still Lake Yoga's virtual studio. Appropriate for beginners to advanced yoga practitioners, Kathy’s class incorporates essential elements from the Integrated Amrit Method of Yoga into an eclectic mix of asanas, pranayama, and deep relaxation. The meditative quality of Kathy’s class is its signature. You will leave with a heightened awareness of your energy, sensations, and internal focus.
